Visitors to the new www.securityexecutivecouncil.com will recognize many familiar tools and functions, such as Faculty Advisor, a Q&A blog that allows them to submit security-related questions to SEC faculty (former CSOs and CISOs); our online store offering books, presentations, resource guides and video training materials; a comprehensive Events Calendar; and the popular executive-level Job Board. The new look and feel of the site provide streamlined navigation and easy browsing.
But the big news is about content. The SEC has aggregated a wide variety of its many resources—articles, thought leadership papers, tools, research, presentations and forums—and has made many of these publicly available in the new Knowledge Corner. Visitors can browse by topic to find guidance and support on the issues that matter to them: Alignment & ROI, Awareness, Career & Role, Information Protection, Measures & Metrics, Regulations & Compliance, Security Programs, and Strategy, with more categories to come.
The many items posted in the Knowledge Corner represent only a portion of the material residing in the SEC’s Knowledge Base. If you need information on a security-related topic that you can’t find on the site, you can use the new Find It For Me feature to submit a query. SEC staff will search the full Knowledge Base to alert you to other information they have on the topic.
Shortly after launch, the site will also be adding a quick poll feature called the Security Barometer that allows visitors to participate in SEC research by weighing in on timely, relevant security matters. The new www.securityexecutivecouncil.com will continue to grow to serve the needs of members and the security profession by sharing information and guidance on security programs and leadership.
