We are looking for a Sr Director of IT Security to lead a global team of security professionals and manage operational activities based out of our Dallas, TX HQ. This role requires a thorough understanding of security best practices, applications and systems. The candidate must be up to date with the latest security standards, systems, authentication protocols and security products.

What You Will Do in This Role

• Serve as an expert advisor to senior management in the development, implementation, and maintenance of an information security program and infrastructure
• Identify key security program elements and determine which departments or offices must be involved in building a comprehensive information security program
• Provide guidance and advocacy regarding prioritization of infrastructure investments that impact security.
• Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of information security policy, standards, and guidelines
• Work with cross functional teams to ensure AI initiatives align with security and compliance standards
• Work with Legal, Compliance, Privacy and Internal Audit to ensure that departments consider information security risks in both ongoing and planned operations
• Monitor information security trends internal and external to Fossil and keep senior management informed about information security-related issues and activities affecting the organization
• Understand potential threats, vulnerabilities, and control techniques and communicate this information to departmental system administrators
• Lead investigations of security breaches and pursue associated disciplinary and legal matters
• Work with Internal Audit, IT, other business units and outside consultants as appropriate on required security audits
• Work with IT management and procurement to create selection criteria for vendor products, tools, and services related to information security

Qualifications:

Your Skills

• 12 to 16 years of team leading skills in specific technology/area of delivery
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Requires a strong application, system and network knowledge
• An excellent problem solver with analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate security strategy and plan to Board of Directors
• Ability to distill complex technical situations into accessible language for non-technical associate understanding
• Must be a strong collaborator and communicator with the capability to mentor team members and leads
• Possess highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills on scope with local and global teams
• Experience working on more than one platform to have greater perspective of available solutions
• Must be able to design solutions and author specification documents
• Experience in GDPR and CCPA compliance preferred
• CISSP, CISM, Cloud, SAP Security or an equivalent certification are highly preferred
• Specific Systems and Tools Preferred: Cloud computing technologies and security, Windows and Linux systems, networking, knowledge of SAP and security best practices
