King County’s Facilities Management Division (FMD) is searching for a leader to serve as Security Manager for King County Facilities. This role focuses on the daily operations of security operations and is the lead in designing and implementing strategies and projects that maintain present and future security services necessary to meet our customer’s and employee needs. We are looking for a seasoned, operational leader who is an exceptional strategic thinker and who can think outside the-box, break down barriers, and empower staff to continuously improve. This position serves as a member of the FMD senior leadership team and reports directly to the Deputy Director - Operations. This role involves daily interaction with staff from all levels of the organization including elected officials, agency stakeholders, and separate branches of government. This role requires that the incumbent have exceptional strategic leadership and project management skills, a commitment to building and maintaining a diverse workforce, a driver of efficiency and innovation, and a desire to push self and others for successful results. Qualifications:

KEY EXPECATIONS/REPSONSIBITIES FOR SECURITY MANAGER: The Security Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the unit including a variety of strategic initiatives and special projects. Key responsibilities include: Provide safe and secure operating environment for public and employees in county owned or managed buildings, including interacting with customers to include other departments, agencies and separately elected officials. Focal point and standard bearer for True North Values and ESJ; integrating into day to day operations. Implementing and promoting goals, vision, workforce management, performance measures, and strategies. Leading effective change management practices with employees and stakeholders. Collaborating with key stakeholders and creating a communications plan and structure to enable effective and timely responses with customers on the status of major security initiatives. Fostering a culture of innovation with a strong sense of how to develop and offer services to meet current and emerging customer needs. Utilizing internal and external resources, technology, and continuous improvement techniques to report metrics, improve processes, create more capacity, and deliver greater value. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS ROLE IS A GREAT PEOPLE LEADER WHO WILL: Have strong daily operations experience and background with providing strategic leadership and management of security operations to a large organization; OR any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrate the ability to perform the scope of job duties.
