Manage William Blair’s Corporate Security staff. Develop and oversee implementation and management of William Blair’s security strategy and programs, including physical security, employee protection, executive protection, and travel security, workplace violence, and crisis management to ensure business continuity and the safety and security of William Blair staff. Serve as an expert technical resource to senior leadership on safety and security matters. Manage communication of significant, high risk communication situations with internal and external contacts. Manage William Blair’s Corporate Security staff, including the security desk, promoting an environment of teamwork and cross-collaboration to provide a safe and secure environment for all employees. Develop and oversee William Blair’s security strategy and programs, which covers physical security, employee protection and travel security, workplace violence, crisis management and business continuity and which ensures the safety of William Blair staff. Provide life safety training to all employees at all William Blair locations to raise their level of situational awareness. Approve requests for new security technology/equipment and for enhancements to security programs, balancing risks and rewards and cost management. Oversee the implementation of associated changes. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field required 10+ years experience in security related, law enforcement or military position Required Experience with, and the ability to efficiently manage dangerous, ambiguous and high stress/high stake situations preferred Previous security supervision experience required Knowledge of risk-threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, enterprise security monitoring, executive protection principles and concepts, facility access control systems, emergency response planning and investigative practices and protocols. In-depth technical knowledge of security standards, programs, techniques, and state-of-the art equipment. A high degree of integrity, ethics, responsibility, and dedication - in addition to the ability to calmly facilitate the appropriate resolution to difficult emotional and crisis situations. Capacity for proactive and strategic thinking and a track record demonstrating initiative, self motivation, organizational leadership and results-oriented attitude to influence outcomes.
