It's no longer a question of who has communication devices on them at work but whether the organization is making an effort to address it. This Security Barometer found the number of respondents reporting using personal electronic devices in the workplace has increased to 80%. In addition, the frequency of use of the personal devices has been growing.
Enforcement of Policies
In both the 2012 and 2018 surveys the goal was to gather more information about how organizations are dealing with the use of personal electronic devices.
Since 2012 there has been a roughly 40% increase in the number of organizations with a policy addressing personal electronic devices in the workplace. While strict enforcement of the policies has climbed 50%.
